This year 2020 marks the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment, guaranteeing and protecting women's constitutional right to vote. This historic milestone provides an opportunity to commemorate a turning point in American democracy and to examine its relevance to the issues of equal rights today.
In close collaboration with the United States Consulate General in Hong Kong & Macau, the University of Chicago presented ‘100 Years of Women’s Suffrage in America’ in the Grand Hall of the main complex of the Francis and Rose Yuen Campus in Hong Kong from November 2020 to March 2021. Experience the virtual tour at this exhibition space and learn about the American women pioneers, leaders and heroines who risked it all to make certain that women had the same voting rights as men.
