The Hong Kong Jockey Club Programme on Social Innovation —
Scaling Your NGO’s Impact: A Workshop for NGO Executive Teams
Building an NGO for ‘scale’ can take many paths, from growing an organization’s direct activities to engaging in training, advocacy, or other systems-change initiatives. Exponentially increasing your impact requires building a path to scale that is right for your organization and your target social issue.
On November 12–16, The Hong Kong Jockey Club Programme on Social Innovation will host a strategy and leadership workshop designed to help NGO executive teams operate effectively and move toward scale in their organizations. The workshop features a mix of lectures on leadership and strategy, executive team coaching, interactive case studies, and a collaborative hands-on experience. Attendees will leave with the frameworks, skills, and networks necessary to maximize the impact of their organizations.
Who Should Attend
The program is intended for NGO executive teams; all members of the executive team must attend each session. The ideal candidates will have led their organizations for a few years and have an interest in taking steps toward growth with a clear, intended impact within their organizations.
Throughout the course, participants will:
• Receive executive team leadership coaching;
• Define the executive team’s roles and responsibilities;
• Develop strategic clarity and tools to measure their organization’s strategic priorities;
• Map current impact gaps to redefine the organizations’ challenges; and
• Identify opportunities for cross-sector collaboration.
• Benefit from the workshop’s limited number of participants, which allows for personalized guidance from course lecturers
Course Lecturers
Course lectures will be delivered by
• Kate Attea, founder and managing partner of Aim & Arrow, faculty coach at Chicago Booth, and facilitator and coach at The Bridgespan Group;
• Christina Hachikian, executive director of the Rustandy Center for Social Sector Innovation at Chicago Booth and adjunct associate professor at Chicago Booth; and
• Daniela Papi-Thornton, lecturer at Yale University, consultant through Systems-ledLeadership.com, and cofounder of Learning Service.
