University of Chicago Center in Hong Kong
A warm welcome to 28 postgraduate students and faculty from UChicago, Hong Kong PolyU and Peking University who visited the Center on December 7. The 2-week winter institute focuses on ‘Globalization, Urbanisation and Migration: Social Policy, Social Work and Community Responses in Hong Kong, Mainland China and the United States.' The group will visit Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Kunming to learn how poverty and migration are viewed and responded to in China and the United States. The program is supported by the Collaborative Exchange Program among the three universities, funded by the generous gift from our alumna Anna Pao Sohmen for the global education and research on social work, social policy and social welfare.
The event is by invitation ONLY
